The Joy of Cottage Cheese

I would like to let you know about another food to help you get through the Baron Von Munchies Syndrome...
It is glorious fat free cottage cheese. A 1/2 cup serving is only 6 grams of carbs. That means that you can have a 1 1/2 cup serving and only use up 1 carb choice. Plus it's fat free so this can really go a long way to help you stay on track and still curb your appetite.

Actually, since Wanda and I are doing the Daniel fasting thing. I will now make fat free cottage cheese my comfort food of choice instead of ice cream. Ice cream is 17 grams of carbs per 1/2 cup so I am saving 11 grams. Wow that is pretty significant. Now if I can just get over not having the sweet part.

After going off sugar on my first Daniel fast, I have noticed that it is easier to do the second time around. Don't get me wrong, I like sweets just like everybody else, but unsweetened stuff tastes OK and the little bit of natural sweet in milk or peanut butter is quickly noticable and appreciated.

Peanut Butter is also a good source of protein if you not eating meat for a while. Get the reduced fat kind and its pretty great smeared on celery. Again I will plan on eating quite a bit of Peanut butter for the next few weeks.

Concerning the exercise part. I hope you are doing something this week to get your heart rate up a bit. Be it walking, jogging or some other aerobic exercise, any of these will help you if you haven't been working out.

  1. Ok so I weaned off the caffeine, sugar and meat. You really don't need those things as there are so many other good for you foods. I haven't been hungry either. Feeling all right! and like Jesus is really helping me through it this time.
My husband and I walk almost every day, getting in more hills; that is the cruncher but really good for us. And Corvallis has lots of hills. Thanks Bob for the encouragement!
