Today's blog is going to be longer than prior postings. We are going to finish up the basic principles and start into some of the specifics that will help you to get on your merry way. So get ready and fasten your seat belt.
I have purposely kept prior posts short and sweet to try to buy some time to promote interest. I know you have been anxious to get started, but the format of what I am teaching is progressive in nature so I would like to get people on board as quickly as possible.
Having said that, I am quite underwhelmed at only having 3 people signed up as followers at this point. I know that there are others reading this blog that have not signed up as followers. This is not good!! I am going to give information to people based on your personal needs. I am willing to provide a service for free that would cost multiple hundreds of dollars elsewhere. I need those that are reading this blog but not signed up to make the commitment to be a follower here. To do this you must click on the follow tab on the right side of this screen and open up a google acct. Its free and only takes about 20 seconds and a password. So come on Barb, Sherry, Micheal, Dawn, Cherri, Cheryl and others... I know you are out there. Click the button.... u...can...dew..it (Just say no to Mtn. Dew)
OK i finished the rant and now back to business d:^)... Oh yea... about the smart people... I am often amazed that extremely intelligent, talented and gifted people that do so well in many aspects of their lives pay absolutely no attention to how they eat. It seems to me that the decisions about what we put into our body should be a little higher on the priority list. I guess that now that I am reformed, I tend to see things is a different perspective. But I do like the fact that my new jeans are actually getting baggy and they are 4" smaller in the waist than my old ones, and when I lay down to go to sleep my xiphoid process is visually prominent when it was invisible before. (xiphoid process is the bump at the bottom of your rib cage.) Now I want you to have a smart perspective on how you are going to eat for the rest of your life.
The Apostle Paul talks specifically about food in 1 Corinthians 10 23 "Everything is permissible—but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible—but not everything is constructive. " When you go to the grocery store there are literally thousands of choices to be had. They are all permissible, but many are damaging you and causing you to be malnourished. I want you to learn to avoid the bad ones 95-99% of the time. You see the grocery store and the restaurants are the places where you are going to win the battle... this may sound trite but I want you to have the mindset that you are taking a midterm college exam every time you enter the doors of a market or go out to eat. You will be prepared to mark the correct answers on the test because you have studied to show yourself approved. You will not make choices based on just what looks good right now or what you feel like. If you stock your cupboards & fridge with good foods and throw away the bad stuff so its not readily available to eat, you my friend Will be a....Supermarket Superhero!
This is only about half of what I want to share with you today but I have some other things that I need to do so I will split this into 2 sessions today. Now is the time to click that blog follow button and create an account.
I lost 50 lbs by just learning how to eat right and excercising. Im 54 years old and in about the best shape of my life. I'm a Paramedic Firefighter by trade, but I would like to use this blog to "life coach" others to conquer the battle of the bulge.
About Me
- Bob Elliott
- I've tried other diets and only had temporary results... Yes I tried the low fat one and "the zone" but now I have just stepped out on my own independent quest. This coupled with the fact that my doctor said I was borderline diabetic and needed to start taking Metformin has motivated me to take better care of myself for life. My peak weight was 209 and my current weight is 158. I would like to share with you how I did it and how you can do it too!!!
